A sensory branding practice aimed at appealing to the sense of touch by intelligently combining iconic and functional design, that is automatically recognisable (e.g. keyboard on certain computers or music players, so familiar that use does not require visual contact), due to the texture of the materials used for their production. It is a strategy generally used in the food packaging industry, complementing and even anticipating to a certain extent, the experience of savouring a product.
