Indicator which calculates the number of click-throughs that an ad receives divided by the number of impressions and is expressed as a percentage, typically 1 or 2 %.
Although it does not necessarily correspond to the number of conversions, it is used to estimate the effectiveness of online advertising (banner, button, pop-up, sponsored link, etc.) and the traffic generated for the advertisers website. May be affected by multiple factors, such as suitability of content to the website where the advert is inserted, location on the page, message customisation, its format, etc.
