CPI may refer to Cost per interaction and Cost per impression.
On the one hand, Cost per interaction is a type of bid whereby advertisers only pay when a user interacts with an advert. An interaction is when, for example, a user places the cursor over an advert for two seconds.
On the other hand, Cost per impression is a form of measuring the cost of a promotion, mainly in print media and television. It is calculated by dividing the total media cost between the number of users that have viewed the advert.
