Online advertising format that consists of a window that appears automatically over the web page being visited, generally whilst the active page loads content. Enables the advertiser to deploy large and wide ranging advertising messages (can include animated GIFs, sound, links, etc.) but has an intrusive nature that makes it the least valued format by users.
