What is the GDPR?

Common rules governing the processing of the personal data of European citizens by businesses and public authorities or bodies, as well as the free movement of such data. The GDPR came into force in May 2016 and has been mandatory for all businesses within the European Union as from 25 May 2018. This Regulation extends the rights of citizens to decide how they want their personal data to be processed and how they wish to receive information from businesses. It applies to all businesses that collect, store, process, use, or administer any kind of data concerning European citizens.
