Website that hosts video files that can be played using Adobe Flash. YouTube enjoys extensive popularity due to the extremely wide range of its content, from homemade recordings to film trailers, music videos, video blogs, television programmes and even advertising spots, respecting copyright as far as possible. Non-registered users can only view other people's videos, whilst those with an account can upload their own content, and comment and rate that of others.

The company, created in February 2005, was purchased by Google in October 2006 for US$1.65 billion.
