Collection of autonomous agents of a heterogeneous and independent nature that interact with each other, often with the aim of resolving a complex problem that one agent alone would find difficult to solve. The study of multi-agent systems falls within the scope of Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI). In practice, a football team can be considered to be a multi-agent system, but in the case of computerized systems, their real-life applications range from computer games to responding to disasters, and include modelling.
