What is deduplication?

Part of a periodic and systematic database revision process that consists of merging or deleting duplicate entries, leaving behind just one copy to avoid the multiple sending of a message to the same addressee, with the resulting risk of saturation and rejection. Database management programs exist that perform this operation automatically.
