What is online reputation?

Indicator for the prestige of a product, advertiser or brand on the Internet. Beyond the control and influence of the affected organisation, it is users in general (customers or not) who massively and unpredictably construct an online reputation by expressing their experiences, recommendations and judgement on forums, social networking sites, blogs, etc. The spontaneous nature of such messages, formulated by another consumer, generally in a position of trust, grants them a degree of validity and credibility that cannot be obtained by any advertising format.
