What is information architecture?

This discipline deals with the organization, structure, and labelling of the content of a web page so that users can browse as easily and simply as possible in order to find what they want. It is just one part, albeit a very important part, of users’ experience, where the information architect orders a complex collection of information into a structure that allows users to understand it, browse it, and find what they are looking for. Poor information architecture has a negative effect on users’ positioning and experience.
